ALEX Revell has left Roots Hall after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent.
The striker arrived back at Southend at the beginning of January following a four-month loan spell with Swindon Town.
Revell, who made 12 appearance for the Robins, has been released to enable him to find another club during the transfer window with Wycombe Wanderers the favourites to sign him.
The 26-year-old was loaned to Swindon in September with a view to the move becoming permanent.
At the time Shrimpers chief executive Geoffrey King said Revell had “failed to live up to expectations” following his £150,000 switch from Brighton in January 2008.
Revell made 43 appearances and scored four goals for Blues.
