RANDY George will face his former team for the first time since leaving tomorrow night as Essex Pirates host Worcester Wolves.

George left the Wolves pack in December along with five other players following a controversial team meeting which also led to coach Chuck Evans resigning.

And, according to Pirates chief Tim Lewis, George is relishing the reunion which takes place at Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre, tip off 7.30pm.

“Randy left Wolves in fairly unpleasant circumstances so I’m sure he will want to get one over on them tomorrow night,” said Lewis.

“Since coming to us, he’s has been excellent and has responded well to the way we play.

“He hasn’t really had a chance to play this much before but he’s taken the chance superbly and is scoring very highly.

“Randy is so professional in every thing he does and this is a game he is definitely looking forward to.”

The rest of the Pirates are also relishing the match though as they look to build on last weekend’s win over Plymouth Raiders.

That took the Southend based side off the foot of the table and has given the team more belief and confidence.

“There has been a big difference after getting the win and it would be great to get another one now,” said Lewis.

“It’s difficult to know what to expect from Wolves because they are a new look team who have a couple of very strong players but we’ve stopped worrying so much about the opposition now.

“We’re giving the players less information to take on board and it seems to be working because we’re playing well.”

Pirates are again hoping for another big crowd after being watched by around 700 fans in their last home match.

In a bid to attract more youngsters this time the club have agreed to give an hour’s free coaching to any school bringing 10 pupils, two hours to any school bringing 20 and three hours to any school bringing 30.
