WEAKNESSES in both penalty areas were what contributed towards Southend United’s 1-1 draw with Tranmere Rovers this afternoon - according to Blues boss Steve Tilson.
He was disappointed to see his side again concede from another set piece situation.
And he also felt Blues created enough chances to have won the game.
"It is about what you do in both boxes and that is the difference,” said Tilson.
“Really and truthfully, we should have got three points but this was always going to be a hard game.
"I saw Tranmere win at Gillingham on Tuesday night and they get a lot of bodies behind the ball.
“It meant we didn’t get much space to play but I still felt we had three of four chances to win it.”
The Shrimpers, who remain just two points above the relegation zone, have still not been paid for January.
But Tilson was not willing to comment on the situation.
“It’s not for me to speak,” said the 43-year-old.
“If someone else at the club wants to comment then that’s up to them but I can’t really say anything.”
