BLUES boss Paul Sturrock feels Morecambe will be difficult opponents for his team when they make their first ever visit to the Globe Arena tomorrow.

The Shrimps saw off table-topping Chesterfield last weekend.

And Sturrock feels that shows Southend will be in for another difficult afternoon.

“You certainly don’t win at Chesterfield if you’re not a good team so we are in for a real test,” said Sturrock.

“They’re a hard working team who play well at home so we will have to be on form if we are to churn out another result.”

Midfielder Kane Ferdinand faces another late fitness test on an ankle injury while Sturrock continues to monitor the form of Liverpool youngster Jason Banton in training.

“He’s still with us and we will have to decide if he’s the right player for us,” said Sturrock.

“We are also after another player on loan but there’s another club after him so we will have to see what happens with them because we don’t want to get involved in a bidding war.”
