BASILDON’S Northlands Park road lake is currently fishing very well.

Jamie Wall had a 16lb common, Pete Jenkins a 17lb common, Tom Butler a mirror of 20lb and Chris Reed, using mainline cell, landed a 16lb 8oz common.

As well as that, Lee Emerson – fishing a strawberry bird seed 16mm boilie – landed a 13lb 4oz mirror.

Liam Harris had a common carp weighing 28lb and Bill Walters fished an over night session and landed two doubles and a fantastic 28lb common carp known as ‘Cut Tail’.

Walters’ successful method was to fish five bait stringers over 20 scattered atomic chronic boilies.

Elsewhere, John Whitmore returned to Gloucester Park this week and in a morning session landed two 17lb common’s and a 22lb mirror from the canal stretch.

In the afternoon, Whitmore noticed some fish feeding near the surface in the big bay and proceeded to catch seven carp up to 17lb on floating carp pellets.

Steve Watson fished an afternoon session on the cockle bank using a method feeder and landed eight carp to 16lb and four bream to 6lb 12oz.

All of Watson’s fish came to 8mm dynamite baits red robin pellets.
