Rayleigh ABC boxers Swayley Anderson and Sonny Real continue their quest for national glory this weekend.
The youngsters will be fighting in the southern semi-finals of the National Schoolboys competition on Sunday at Feltham in Middlesex.
Both fighters are not yet sure who their opponents will be at Feltham Community College.
Swayley warmed up for his fight with Dean Baxter of Chatteris ABC at the Rayleigh show on Saturday.
It was a night of mixed fortunes for the host club. Joe O’Brien beat T Williamson (Dereham), C Fowler defeated D Eagle (Dereham) and Michael Chaulkly saw off the challenge of R Ward (Cheshunt).
Sam Malone was named fighter of the night after the Rayleigh boxer defeated J Boswell (Cheshunt).
All the Rayleigh wins were on points and the boxers from the Hullbridge Road club who suffered defeats were only narrowly beaten on points.
Billy Bellfield lost to Brentwood’s Simey Boyle and Jay Mair was beaten by Charlie Nunn (Cheshunt).
Jamie Homer lost his Essex ABA under-63kg county final to Lee Martin of Chalvedon.
