SOUTHEND Rugby Club’s home clash against high flying Old Albanians will kick-off at 6pm.

The Seasiders have decided to push back the start of the game to attract a bigger crowd.

And club officials are expecting at least 500 fans to be at Warners Bridge this weekend.

“We’ve had later kick-offs before and it has always resulted in a far bigger crowd,” said Southend’s director of rugby Chris Green.

“Ideally we would like to do them more often because it gives more people the chance to come and watch us.”

Old Albanians will be tough opposition though as they currently sit second in the National Two South standings and have won their last 13 games.

They have also not been beaten since losing to Southend in October.

We have teamed up with the club to offer Echo readers discounted tickets for the clash.

Fans aged 16 and under will be able to gain entry to the game for free if they take a voucher which will be printed in tomorrow’s paper to the game. The voucher will also enable adult fans to see the match for £6 instead £8.
