SARAH Ball, Christie Hale and Gill Sanderson have been celebrating after bagging multiple crowns each at the Southend & District LTA winter finals.
Westcliff Lawn player Ball endured a three-hour match before beating Anne-Marie Naylor 5-7 6-2 6-3 in the ladies’ singles.
And she teamed up with club-mate Hale to claim the ladies’ doubles trophy, beating the Westcliff Hard duo of Sue Hookway and Faye Watts in straight sets.
Hale’s other silverware came in the mixed doubles, where she teamed up with Blase Walton to defeat Ryan Wilson and Watts in a three-set final.
Westcliff Hard’s Sanderson netted success with victories in the mixed veteran doubles and the mixed over-35 doubles, partnering Iain MacDonald and Kevin Eley respectively.
Sanderson also picked up the ladies’ veteran doubles with Marg Rimmer via a walkover, as injury prevented Hazel Wynn and Sarah Ball from contesting the final.
Graham Boosey won his first Southend & District title by triumphing in the men’s doubles.
And there were new winners in the veteran men’s doubles, where Paul Lansley and John Blewett claimed their first crown. The finals were held on Sunday at Deanes Indoor Tennis Centre, in Daws Heath Road, Thundersley.
