BOWERS saved their best performance of the season until the final day with an empathic win over Clapton.
Goal-scoring sensation Calvin Poku was once again in fine form as he scored all three goals in the second half.
A scrappy first half livened up in the 25th minute when Ambrose Tukei missed a great opportunity when the ball squirmed along the Clapton goal line but he blazed the ball over, But the second half was all about the impressive finishing of Poku.
His first came when he raced on to a punt forward from keeper Michael Doyle.
Poku’s pace took him clear of the Clapton defence and his powerful shot left the keeper with no chance.
Then he took advantage of some indecision in the visitors’ defence to steal the the ball and stroke home number two.
And 10 minutes from time he completed his third hat-trick of the season with a well-placed free kick that curled past the wall and into the top corner.
The win saw Bowers move up to two places to finish the season in 15th position.
