SOUTHEND’S Director of Rugby Chris Green wants his side to end their season in style at relegation threatened Westcombe Park tomorrow.

The Kent club are currently second from bottom in the National Two South standings, five points from safety.

But they could still jump out of the drop zone with a win over the Seasiders and Green therefore wants to see his players fired up for the game.

“Westcombe Park will be really up for the game so we will need to be as well,” said Green.

“This is certainly not an end of the season dead rubber type game because there is plenty to be played for.

“We’ve been playing well at home just lately but haven’t been able to do the same away and it’s time for that to change.”

Southend were beaten 29-3 at high-flying Hartpury College last weekend.

And Green now also wants to see an improved in his team’s discipline.

The Seasiders had a trio of players yellow carded in their last outing and Green insists that cannot happen again.

“The decisions were quite harsh and a little bit curious last week but we can’t use that as an excuse,” said Green.

“All season our discipline hasn’t been good enough and it’s certainly something that needs to be looked at.”

Southend currently sit 10th in the table and can finish no higher even if they win this weekend.

However, defeat would see them slip a place if Taunton win at Dings Crusaders.

The Seasiders look set to welcome back wingers Billy Driver and Mark Billings for the clash while full-back Andrew Frost and second row Alan Barker should also be available again.
