KANE Ferdinand believes it will be the biggest game of his career so far when Southend United travel to Crewe Alexandra this weekend.
The young midfielder missed last Saturday’s 2-0 win over Macclesfield Town because of an illness.
But he has now recovered and is desperate to be involved against the Railwaymen.
“Both of these games are going to be huge and of course I want to play because they would be the biggest matches of my career so far,” said Ferdinand, 19.
“I’m feeling much better again now and have been back training this week, so I’m available to play if I’m needed.
“However, I’m not sure what the manager will decide to do.”
Ferdinand has been a regular starter away from home for Blues in recent weeks as boss Paul Sturrock has opted to line-up with just one main striker.
That has seen Ferdinand given the freedom to attack from the midfield and he has enjoyed adding that to his game.
“That side of things has been something a bit different for me this year but I like doing it and it’s gone well,” said Ferdinand.
“I’ve got a few goals and made some as well, and hopefully that can happen again at the weekend.”
