1 GOALKEEPER: James Russell (Canvey Island): In a rollercoaster season, Russell was consistently brilliant and one of the main reasons for Canvey’s county cup win. He also made some eye-catching cameos for Chelsea’s reserves.

2 LEFT-BACK: Joe Keith (Aveley and East Thurrock): The experienced utility man was influential in the middle of the park during Lee Hodges’ spell at Aveley, and remained assured and dependable when he returned to the Rocks to play at full-back.

3 CENTRE-BACK: Rob Swaine (Captain) (Billericay Town): Billericay’s captain fantastic was the rock on which their Ryman Premier title winning season was built. Largely responsible for their brilliant defensive record, he also chipped in with a healthy 14 goals.

4 CENTRE-BACK: Nick Skelton (Great Wakering Rovers and Concord Rangers): Although part of a back-four with the worst defensive record in Ryman One North, those at Burroughs Park who regularly watched the versatile defender say he could easily still be playing at a higher level.

5 RIGHT-BACK: Ashley Miller (Concord Rangers): The athletic full-back continues to be one of the jewels in the Beachboys’ crown. He has a knack of neutralising the most potent wingers and is capable of chipping in with goals and assists.

6 LEFT-MIDFIELD: Glenn Poole (Billericay Town and Thurrock): The former league midfielder’s arrival at New Lodge in December was a key point in the club’s title-winning campaign as he used all of his experience and guile to make the team tick.

7 CENTRE-MIDFIELD: Gary Henty (Tilbury): The Dockers skipper was the heartbeat of Paul Vaughan’s side, who were one of the surprise packages of the season as they went from relegation candidates last season to play-off semi-finalists this campaign.

8 CENTRE-MIDFIELD: Stuart Thurgood (Thurrock and Grays Athletic): The midfield general rolled back the years with his performances at Ship Lane this year and won their supporters’ player of the year by a landslide.

9 RIGHT-MIDFIELD: Joao Carlos (Grays Athletic): The flying winger menaced teams down both of Grays’ flanks this season, coming up with numerous assists and chipping in with 11 goals which made him the club’s top-scorer.

10 CENTRE-FORWARD: Tony Stokes (Concord Rangers): Stokes missed the club’s first eight games as he recovered from a groin problem, but still weighed in with an incredible 33 goals. He remains invaluable to the team and continues to regularly attract league scouts to the Aspect Arena.

11 CENTRE-FORWARD: Sam Higgins (East Thurrock United): The former Chelmsford man did not start playing for Rocks until October; he went on to score 31 league goals in 31 games, and 40 in all competitions. He scored all-sorts of goals to claim the Echo’s Golden Boot award.
