CAMERON Belford is still confident Southend United can progress to the final of the League Two play-offs.
Blues’ on loan goalkeeper was unable to set a new club record for successive clean sheets as Adam Dugdale netted a second half header to secure Crewe a 1-0 win at Gresty Road.
But Belford still believes his side can go through.
“We’ve still got a great chance of winning the tie overall because it isn’t very often we don’t score at home,” said the keeper.
“To be honest we’ve probably got out of jail a little bit here and could’ve been more than 1-0 down but we’re very much in it still and Wednesday’s second leg will be a great occasion.
“Our fans will be right behind us again and we’ve been doing well at home just recently so we will be wanting to keep that going and get through.”
