ON the back of drawing at Northampton Town last weekend, we go in to Saturday’s home game with Wycombe Wanderers wanting our first win of the season.

Wycombe seem to go between League One and League Two but whenever they’re playing at this level they’re a very strong side.

They had a boost last weekend when their game against Bristol Rovers was called off when they were losing 3-1 and things like that can often give teams a bit of a lift.

That will make this weekend’s match tough but we go in to it in good spirits ourselves after getting a point at Northampton.

I haven’t seen too many second halves like that during my career with six goals being scored and it was definitely safe to say it was the attackers on top.

At one stage we looked like we were heading for a defeat so for Ryan to pop up with a late equaliser was great to see and it means we now have something to show for our efforts.

Of course I would love to be involved and it’s been frustrating for me sitting on the bench.

You get paid to play and, after training all week, it’s what you want to do on a Saturday.

But, at the same time, I’m delighted for my team-mates when they do well and hopefully everyone will against Wycombe so we can get a good result.

WE'VE SEEN THEM BEFORE!

THE new lads have all fitted in well to the squad and have now started to earn themselves a few nicknames.

We all think Gavin Tomlin looks like a young Lionel Ritchie but he nearly didn’t make it to the start of the season at all after coming close to drowning on our pre-season tour of Madrid when we found out he couldn’t swim!

Anthony Straker used to be in EastEnders as Doctor Truman and Seedy Njie played his brother Paul.

Kevan Hurst is another cracking lad and he celebrated his 37th birthday this week by bringing in a few doughnuts and a loaf of  bread, typical northerner!

Ryan Cresswell has also settled in very nicely and appears to be a clone of Adam Barrett and I have yet to see them in the same room together!

The only difference between the two is that I can't understand Cressy with that strange accent of his!

There isn’t too much too say about Paul Smith yet because he doesn’t really speak and Bongo (Britt Assombalonga) is another quiet lad.

Spice (John Spicer) doesn’t say too much either but he’s a typical Londoner and is well respected in the group for what he’s achieved in his career.
