SOUTHEND United winger Ryan Hall is closing in on a loan switch to Leeds United.

The 24-year-old had seemed set to join Championship club Blackpool but the move fell through when he failed to agree personal terms with the Seasiders.

Peterborough United were also interested in signing Hall but a move to Leeds is now most likely.

Hall joined Blues on a free transfer in July 2010 and scored 23 goals in 105 games.

Last season he top scored for the club with 14 goals and had more assists than any other player in the country.

However, Hall’s last start came on the opening day of the league season against Accrington Stanley and, in recent weeks, he has been training alone in Birmingham.

A move to Leeds could also cause confusion in Yorkshire as a winger with the same name also plays for the city’s rugby league team, the Leeds Rhinos!
