Ben Reeves joins Southend United on loan from Southampton

BEN Reeves has completed a month long loan switch to Southend United from Southampton.

The 21-year-old, who has played for the Saints in the Premier League this season, can play in both defence and midfield.

And Blues boss Paul Sturrock is pleased to have brought the youngster to the club.

“We’re delighted to have signed Ben because he’s someone we identified as a player we feel can help us push for promotion,” said Sturrock.

I don't understand how it works with these loan players. Do they get paid a salary by Southend United? I didnt think the club had any money. Good luck to them all.

club has no money,surprised rm found the money for dec wages,i was there when we never got paid when vic was in charge.The way loan wages work is that the club taking the player pays part or all of his wages for the month,with his contracted club paying the rest if only part being paid

Worth bearing in mind that the month's wage for this young loan player will probably be less than David Martin's full time wage, so with D Martin offloaded to Luton & the probably smaller wage of the other young loanee from Sheff Wed overall its probably cheaper.
