SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown is expecting to discover the seriousness of Ryan Leonard’s hamstring injury tomorrow.
The midfielder limped off during Blues’ 1-0 win at Cheltenham Town on Tuesday night.
And Brown is nervously awaiting more news.
“You need to give these things time to settle down so we will assess Ryan tomorrow and know more then,” said Brown.
“He said he felt a sharp pain but hopefully he won’t be out for too long.”
However, centre-back Cian Bolger should return to training tomorrow after recovering from a thigh strain while striker Barry Corr is expected to return from a neck injury to take on York City this weekend.
“Barry had a whiplash type injury after being kicked by one of the younger lads in the squad during training,” said Brown.
“There was no way he could’ve played at Cheltenham but we’ve wrapped him up in cotton wool and hope he will be fine to play at the weekend.”
