First round draw - Blues will host Brighton & Hove Albion in the Capital One Cup
SOUTHEND United have been drawn at home to Brighton & Hove Albion in the first round of the Capital One Cup.
The Championship club will be visiting Roots Hall during the week commencing Monday August 10 as Blues bid to end a run of four successive first round exits in the competition.
The Shrimpers last faced Brighton in League One back in 2010 when the Seagulls ran out 1-0 winners at Roots Hall.
