SOUTHEND United legend Kevin Maher has returned to the Shrimpers to help coach the club’s young players.
Maher will work with the youngsters one day a week and will also be at matches when possible, much to the delight of youth team boss Ricky Duncan.
“It’s great to have Kev on board as one of our support coaches,” said Duncan.
“He’s done it before with us and it’s brilliant to have him back.
“It goes alongside the work he’s doing at Chelmsford City and he’s someone the boys really look up to.”
Maher spent 10 seasons playing for the Shrimpers and made 454 appearances for the club.
