SOUTHEND United are interested in signing left-back Stephen Hendrie on loan from West Ham, Echosport understands.
Blues are keen to bring in a replacement for the injured Ben Coker and have identified the Scottish under 21 international as one of their main targets.
Hendrie made 117 appearances for Hamilton Academical before joining West Ham in a £1million deal in July 2015.
Hendrie has yet to make a first team appearance for the Hammers and could be keen to continue his development with a spell at the Shrimpers.
Blues boss Phil Brown was unavailable for comment but speaking earlier today he revealed he was interested in a trio of left-backs including Crystal Palace’s Jerome Binnom-Williams who was on loan with Southend last season.
