SOUTHEND United’s latest batch of youngsters were introduced to the Roots Hall faithful on Tuesday night.
The Shrimpers' latest eight scholars - goalkeeper Nathan Bishop, left back Yonis Farah, centre-backs Zak Pianim and Taylor Curran, midfielder Harry Cuthbert, winger Dru Yearwood and strikers Eren Kinali and Sewa Marah all came onto the pitch during the half time interval of the 1-0 defeat to Oldham Athletic.
And Blues' youth coach Dave Huzzey was pleased for the youngsters to be able to get onto the pitch.
"It's always a nice moment for the new batch of scholars to be introduced to the fans and it's really nice for their families as well," said Duncan.
"This is another very talented group of youngsters and we're looking forward to working with them all more closely when next season gets underway.
"We've seen positive signs from them already and we're pleased with how the group is shaping up.
"A few of them were handed opportunities in the under 18s for the game with Luton Town last weekend and there were certainly some very positive signs.
"The players know what's ahead of them but they're a hard working bunch so I'm sure they will give their all.
"It's a big opportunity they have here now, especially with the under 21 team we have in place."
