SOUTHEND United’s assistant manager Graham Coughlan feels Republic of Ireland’s clash with Sweden this afternoon will go a long way in deciding their Euro 2016 destiny.

The Dublin born Coughlan will be in France to watch the game.

And he feels Ireland must win if they are to progress past the group stages.

“I’m going out to France for the European Championships with my wife and few others and we’re taking in the Sweden game which I think is going to be really important,” said Coughlan.

“We’re in the group of death really as we’re with Sweden, Belgium and Italy and we have to win against Sweden if we’re going to get through.

“It will probably be a minor miracle if that happens but it’s going to be great.

“The Irish always travel in big numbers and we love our football.

“There’s talk of 30,000 fans being in Paris even though we only have 13,000 tickets and it’s going to be some atmosphere.”
