TOM Rosenthal and Stephen Arthurworrey are to join Southend United on trial.

Rosenthal, who is the son of former Liverpool striker Ronny, was released by Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season.

And he will be joined at Blues’ Boots & Laces training ground tomorrow by ex Fulham defender Arthurworrey.

“Tom and Stephen will be joining us for pre-season training and could well play in a few of the friendlies we have coming up,” confirmed Shrimpers boss Phil Brown.

“We will have a look at them and then decide whether or not to take them to Spain with us in a couple of weeks.”

Rosenthal, 19, has played for Belgium at under 18 and under 19 levels and came through the ranks at Watford before joining Belgian Pro League SV Zulte Waregem.

The midfielder joined QPR at the start of the 2015/16 season but was released by the Championship club after failing to make a first team appearance.

He will now be looking to earn himself a contract with the Shrimpers along with Arthurworrey.

The 21-year-old centre-back came through the youth system at Fulham and played once for the Cottagers in the League Cup.

The defender made 17 appearances while on loan with Tranmere Rovers in 2014 and has also enjoyed two loan spells at Yeovil Town making a combined total of 50 appearances.

He is now available on a free transfer after being released by Fulham at the end of last season.
