CALAUM Jahraldo-Martin has joined Southend United on trial and will play in a training game tomorrow.

The former Hull City winger caught the eye of Phil Brown when playing against the Shrimpers for Tranmere Rovers in November 2014.

And Brown is now keen to take a closer look at the 23-year-old.

“I remember Calaum playing against us for Tranmere and I remember Steve Bruce calling him a little gem so we will be having a look at him,” said Brown.

“He’s lightning quick which is a great trait to have and he’ll be involved in the game we have tomorrow.”

Blues will be taking on each other in a training game after their match against Braintree Town was postponed and a number of other trialists will also be involved including Jakub Sokolik.

Gavin Gunning will play after recovering from an ankle injury while Ronan Murray, Tom Rosenthal and William Edjenguele should also figure along with Nile Ranger.
