SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown was delighted to see Will Atkinson mark his 150th appearance for the Shrimpers with a goal in Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with Swindon Town.

Atkinson bagged his third goal in two games to put Blues in front at Roots Hall.

And Brown was happy for the midfielder to celebrate his landmark in style.

“I’m delighted for Will to have got to 150 games and for him to get another goal,” said the Blues boss.

“It’s credit to his effort and determination because when he came here he hadn’t played in League One before.

“Bradford got rid of him because they got promoted but he’s proved to Bradford he can play in League One, if not beyond and long may that continue.”
