SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown has expressed his frustration at having today’s game with Bolton Wanderers postponed.
The scheduled clash at Roots Hall was postponed because of a frozen pitch.
And Brown was disappointed the match against his former side did not go ahead.
“It was the right decision at the time it was made but whether or not the pitch would have been playable by 3pm I don’t know,” said the Blues boss.
“It’s disappointing because it had the makings of a fantastic game and I also think we were catching Bolton at a good time as they had a tough FA Cup replay at Crystal Palace on Tuesday night.
“I really do feel as though they would have been fatigued at some point but we just have to get on with it.
“The good thing is that it gives Ben Coker another week on the training ground and our players can have a bit of a break.”
Brown will now spend this afternoon watching Fleetwood Town, next weekend’s opponents, in action at Coventry City.
