PHIL Brown is determined to improve his cup record at Southend United, starting with victory at Yeovil Town tomorrow.
Brown - whose team face the Glovers in the first round of the FA Cup - has been beaten in 16 of the 24 cup games he has bossed with the Shrimpers.
But the 58-year-old is desperate to avoid a fourth successive first round exit.
“Without a shadow of a doubt I want a cup run,” said Brown.
“I feel like this is a key moment for us now and I’ll be naming an unchanged team if possible which shows how seriously I’m taking the game.
“I was lucky enough to enjoy cup runs as a player and when it happens everyone is bouncing.
“It helps with the league form because everyone wants to play and stay in the team so that’s what I want to happen here.”
