ECHOSPORT takes a closer look at tomorrow’s opponents Oldham Athletic.

THE SEASON SO FAR

Oldham have endured plenty of twists and turns already this season.

Despite a very bad start - which saw them win one of the first 11 games and club legend John Sheridan sacked - spirits remain high, as performances under Richie Wellens have been much improved.

The signings of Kean Bryan, Jack Byrne and Eoin Doyle on deadline day have been a catalyst to huge improvements all over the pitch and Oldham have risen up to 17th in the League One table.

RECENT FORM

The Latics have lost just two of their last 13 games but their last two games have both ended in goalless draws.

STYLE OF PLAY

Oldham are described as a free-flowing, quick passing side who look to play out from the back. Goalkeeper Johny Placide is crucial in starting many of the Latics’ moves.

DANGERMAN

Eoin Doyle: The on loan Preston North End striker has scored 13 goals in 17 games in all competitions so far this season.

TEAM NEWS

Oldham’s only notable absence will probably be defender Ryan McLaughlin, who has been out for two months with a hamstring injury.

PREDICTED STARTING LINE-UP
