MARC-ANTOINE Fortune says he feels fit enough to play until he is 50 ahead of Southend United’s clash at Bristol Rovers.

The 36-year-old striker impressed in Saturday’s 2-0 win against Oldham Athletic and insists retirement is far from his mind at the moment.

“The way I feel at the moment I think I could play until I’m 50,” laughed Fortune.

“My legs are still going and it’s always been a pleasure to be a professional footballer so I will look to go on for as long as I keep on playing well. But I don’t look too far into the future and I’m just focusing on Saturday.

“Last year it was really bad when we went to Bristol Rovers and we don’t want that to happen again because it’s a big game.”

Blues go into the game sitting ninth in the table but Fortune - who scored just once this season - will again be putting the team first.

"Of course I would like to get more goals but I want to help the team get good results first," said Fortune.

"I'll worry about goals after that."
