FREDDIE Ladapo is determined to make his mark at Southend United.

The striker - who was with the Shrimpers as a youngster - has signed a six month deal with the option of a further year at Roots Hall.

And the forward is eager to make a big impression with Blues.

"I’m back at a club where I started off as a kid and I want to do really well and make my mark," said Ladapo who turns 25 tomorrow.

“I was at Oldham for the first part of last season and then Shrewsbury in the second half and I enjoyed my time with both clubs, but now I want to do well at Southend too."

Ladapo will train with the Shrimpers for the first time tomorrow and hopes to make his debut at Peterborough United this weekend.

“I’m hoping to get into the team on Saturday because it’s a huge game and I just want to hit the ground running," said Ladapo.

"If I’m involved in the game this weekend then I hope it’s a good debut for me."
