BLAIR Sturrock made a goalscoring return to action for Southend United’s reserves in a 1-1 draw at Concord Rangers.
The 29-year-old striker had not played since picking up an ankle problem on the final day of last season at Wycombe Wanderers.
And he was delighted to play the full 90 minutes at the Aspect Arena.
“It’s always nice to get a goal and it was nice to be back out there playing again,” said Sturrock.
“My ankle felt fine but it’s up to the manager when I return.
“Right now I’m just concentrating on making sure I get as fit as I can.”
