SOUTHEND United’s Bilel Mohsni insisted referee Andy Woolmer was right to allow his controversial goal in last night’s 3-0 win at Barnet.
The Frenchman bagged Blues’ second goal when he converted a right wing cross from Ryan Hall. But the goal was only awarded after the referee opted to overturn an offside decision.
“I was never offside for the goal because I ran past their defender to score and the referee got it right in the end,” said Mohsni. “I couldn’t believe it when it was disallowed but the referee was right to talk to the linesman and change the decision.”
Hall and sub Neil Harris also worked their way on to the scoresheet for Southend who have now gone nine games unbeaten.
