SOUTHEND United’s fans have reacted in a mixed manner to Bilel Mohsni’s red card against Oldham Athletic.

Some supporters feel the Frenchman’s dismissal and subsequent bust up should signal the end of his spell at Roots Hall.

But others are continuing to stand by him.

“I said at the start of the season that Bilel needs management and a cemented place in the team,” said Tim Hardwicke from Benfleet.

“I don’t think it’s fair on him to be expected to play centre-back, centre forward and then on the wing all at 100 miles per hour so I think the club should stick by him.”

And those views were echoed by keen Blues fan Daniel Mayes.

“We cannot allow a player of Bilel’s talent be wasted and let go,” said the Benfleet based supporter.

“He can play in any position and would even go in goal such is his passion and love for the game. The club need to do more than boxing training because he needs professional help and his talent warrants that from the club.

“He gives fans excitement that has been lacking since the days of Freddy Eastwood and if we let him go I guarantee it will be a massive mistake.”

However, not all fans share that opinion and Calum Randall believes Mohsni should have no future at the football club.

“I think it’s time to let him leave as he’s already had too many chances,” said Randall.

“For every right there are two wrongs.”

But Shoebury based Rob Fuller came up with a different alternative.

“I feel we should send him out on loan,” said Fuller.

“He’s too good a player to release or sell at this stage and I think a loan deal would therefore be best for everyone and may be help him improve his discipline.”

Wes Fitzgerald from Rayleigh labelled Mohsni a liability who should be let go while David Hennell likened selecting the Frenchman to playing Russian Roulette.

And Greg Colmer from Rayleigh also feels Mohsni should leave.

“Bilel has great potential but unfortunately we can no longer trust him when he’s on the pitch and it’s time to say goodbye," he said.
