DAVID Martin has been made available for transfer by Southend United.

The 27-year-old winger has fallen out of favour at Roots Hall since signing from Derby County for a nominal fee last January.

And Blues boss Paul Sturrock has now revealed Martin’s name has been circulated to other clubs.

“I had a full and frank discussion with David about things and he wants to be playing first team football so we’ve made clubs aware of his availability,” said Sturrock.

“His name has been circulated and if he can sort something out for himself then we won’t stand in his way.

“But knowing David I also know he will also remain professional and continue to give 100 per cent for us if he’s called upon.”

Martin started brightly for Blues, scoring three times in his first 10 appearances.

However, he was dropped from the side after an error in last season’s home clash against Accrington Stanley, tomorrow’s visitors to Roots Hall.

Martin failed to deal with a Kevin McIntyre corner which sneaked it at the near post to hand Stanley a last gasp equaliser.

And, since then, the wide man has started just two of Blues’ 13 matches.

A foot injury ruled him out of Tuesday night’s 4-0 Capital One Cup defeat at Peterborough United.

But Martin, who has made just 17 appearances for Blues, is now available for selection again and could be included in the squad for tomorrow’s League Two opener with Accrington
