YOUNGSTERS from Hullbridge Sports had a ball when they were visited by their counterparts from the Somerset Cricket and Football Club of Bermuda.
The visitors were brought over by former West Ham goal hero and current Bermuda coach Clyde Best MBE and the international star made many friends.
He signed autographs, posed for pictures, and spent long spells talking to the youngsters about his life in the game.
Best brought 20 under-nine players with him in a party of 34 from the group of islands in the North Atlantic and they played two games against Hullbridge.
All the host team’s boys had a brilliant day, really enjoyed the experience, and were given a gift from Bermuda by the visitors.
A Hullbridge spokesman said: “We would like to thank Clyde and the boys for their visit and look forward to seeing them again.”
Best played for West Ham as a striker from 1969 to 1976, scoring 58 goals in 218 appearances for the club.
He was made an MBE in January 2006 for his services to football and the community in Bermuda.
