BASILDON United can surpass their best points total this millennium if they beat Stansted tonight.

The Bees have enjoyed a fine season to date, and will return to the top of the Essex Senior League standings with victory Manager Craig Gillam has overseen a turnaround in the club’s fortunes this term, with the last time the Bees surpassed 55 points coming way back in 1998, when they were runners up in the Essex Senior League.

Stansted are in 12th in the division, and will be looking for revenge after Basildon won the reverse fixture 2-1. George Light (calf), Brad Hunter (foot) and Grant Hayward (groin) are all injured for Bees.

Bowers & Pitsea are playing catch up in the league, due to their FA Vase commitments, but their match against Ilford is in doubt due to the pitch condition.

Saturday’s 3-0 win over Sutton Common Rovers came at a cost, with the Len Salmon Stadium pitch cut up in numerous places.

Ilford are actually above Bowers in the standings, albeit having played four games more.

Both matches kick-off at 7.45pm.
