l RUNDOWN: Bowers & Pitsea and Aveley are two sides enjoying good starts to the season, but both are increasingly in need of the points tomorrow.

Bowers, in 9th, and Aveley, in 6th, have been impressive in the early weeks but Bowers are now without a win in five league matches while Terry Spillane, Aveley’s new manager, is without a win his his first three matches.

This promises to be an exciting match, with both eyeing a return to the play-off places come the end of tomorrow afternoon.

l MANAGER’S VIEW: Bowers manager Rob Small said: “Both teams came flying out the traps. They have had a change of management which is always difficult at the start.

“We are finding our feet and it is hard to know if we were overachieving at the start.

“Terry has achieved a lot in the game and I have leaned on him for some guidance in the past. His work at Stansted and Redbridge stands out. I played for him briefly at Stansted.

“We were outplayed for the majority at Brentwood on Tuesday and I have had to make more changes than I would have wanted. But we will give it a go.”

l TEAM NEWS: Shomari Barnwell has joined Dagenham & Redbridge. Callum Leahy joins from Heybridge. Lewis Manor, Jamie Salmon, Martyn Guest and Tom Hine are out. Goalkeeper Lewis Greene joins on loan from Canvey.
