GLENN Tamplin admits he will be making changes to his team following Billericay Town’s 1-1 draw with Margate on Saturday.

The Town owner and manager is set to send one of his talented first-team players out on loan after he again failed to impress, while an offer has been put in for a National League striker.

It comes after Adam Cunnington netted an 86th minute equaliser against Margate in the Isthmian Premier League, as Dulwich Hamlet stretched their lead at the top to five points.

After the game, Tamplin said: “I have tremendously talented players but for some reason there are two or three that don’t seem to want it enough. Most gave it everything but I will be sending one on loan. He needs to be hungrier and sometimes you need a kick up the backside.

“I have made an offer to a club in the National League for a powerful centre forward and that is being very seriously considered.”

Head coach Harry Wheeler said he felt Louie Theophanous should have been awarded a penalty, but says Town must look at their inability to take chances.

“We always see lost points as points dropped but it was a tough game against a good side,” said Wheeler. “We will take a point and we remain in a good position but we will re-evaluate.

“We made changes at half-time and attempted to overload the middle and we came out well. But we only got one back and not two. But with the amount of chances created we should win the game.

“These are a good, honest bunch and I am pleased with the character shown. It looks like a penalty on Louie but we can’t rely on that to win the game.”

Town now play three cup matches before a return to the league. And Wheeler is unconcerned at the gap to Dulwich.

He said: “Dulwich won but we have to take it game by game. We have games in hand but we need to win those. We have some big cup games coming and if we can head into the next league game off the back of three wins we will be in a good place.”
