Essex Senior Cup quarter-final

BILLERICAY Town eased into the last four of the Essex Senior Cup with a thumping 3-0 win at Harlow Town.

A Billy Bricknell brace plus a goal from Dean Inman was enough for Glenn Tamplin’s team.

Town started impressively and could have led as early as the second minute, with Bricknell and Jermaine Pennant coming close.

Rob Swaine and Sanchez Watt headed off target as Harlow struggled to contain the away team’s threat.

But the Hawks could only keep out Billericay for so long. Sanchez Watt fed Billy Bricknell and the hitman blasted beyond David Hughes and into the net.

Harlow enjoyed a spell of pressure before the half was out but Billericay remained in charge.

The same man doubled Billericay’s lead 20 minutes into the second half, firing home from the penalty spot, and three minutes later the game was won.

Captain Inman headed home a Pennant corner as Town progressed.
