THE PREVIEW: There is plenty to play for between these two play-off rivals as Bowers & Pitsea target a shot in the arm in their attempts to get back into the league’s top two.

Potters Bar Town jumped above Bowers into second in the week, albeit Bowers have two games in hand.

But Bowers will not want to drop more points, with manager Rob Small insisting the top six remains his team’s priority.

Maldon are currently outside of the play-off places on goal difference but have been tasked with getting promotion this season.

Bowers were 4-2 winners in the reverse fixture, what will this clash throw up?

THE INSIGHT: “We didn’t play over Easter and we dropped places because of it,” said boss Rob Small. “The reality is the league only matters on April 28.

“It is going to be very tough tomorrow. We are playing a much bigger club than us. They have links to Colchester United and it is clearly a professional environment.

“They play some good football and to play against the likes of [former Premier League striker] Lee Barnard is crazy for us, as we were in the market for Essex Senior League players.

“But we won there last year and I am sure they won’t have forgotten that. We know we can do it.”

“A win would all but guarantee us a play-off place and that is a huge incentive. We have seven games to go and there will be ups and downs.”

THE TEAM NEWS: Adam Vyse could make his debut, defenders John Easterford and Lewis Clark both return.
