A QUARTET of West Ham United players will continue their quests to take part in the 2010 World Cup on Wednesday.

Valon Behrami, Lucas Neill, Robert Green and Matthew Upson will all take aim for South Africa.

Behrami's Switzerland will hope to bounce back from the disappointment of conceding a 92nd minute equaliser to draw 2-2 in Israel on Saturday by thrashing minnows Luxembourg in UEFA Group Two.

The 23-year-old had been substituted just four minutes before Ben Sahar made his dramatic late intervention in Ramat Gan, but the Swiss should have little trouble in brushing aside their opponents in Zurich.

Earlier, former Iron Yossi Benayoun had scored Israel's opening goal.

Captain Neill, meanwhile, faces a journey into the unknown as his Australia side travel to Uzbekistan.

The 30-year-old full-back is certain to be named in Pim Verbeek's side as the Socceroos head for Tashkent for the opening match in the final stage of Asian qualifying.

Neill skippered his country and played a full 90 minutes as Australia came from behind to beat the Netherlands 2-1 in Eindhoven on Saturday.

The defender and his colleagues also Japan, Bahrain and Qatar, with the top two sides from their group reaching the finals.

Green and Upson are unlikely to feature in England's vital UEFA Group Six qualifier against Croatia in Zagreb, but both will be hopeful of being named among the substitutes by head coach Fabio Capello.

New signing Herita Ilunga will arrive at Chadwell Heath on Tuesday after appearing in the Democratic Republic of Congo's 1-0 home defeat to Egypt in Kinshasa on Saturday.

The Congoese resume their African Group 12 qualification campaign with a trip to Malawi on October 11.

Meanwhile, Wales trio Craig Bellamy, James Collins and Danny Gabbidon will all miss their country's UEFA Group Four trip to Russia through injury.

Jon Spector will also miss the United States' home North, Central America and Caribbean Group One qualifier against Trinidad and Tobago as he is recovering from a hip surgery.
