ROCHFORD Hundred’s boys team have triumphed at the English Team Championships at Essendon Golf Club in Hatfield.
The event saw Rochford take on five other clubs from all over England.
And the competition was played in a complicated format of five net scores off handicap with one dropped and then one gross score to count.
The Rochford boys were by far the lowest handicaps of all the teams in the final, so their job of trying to win was made even harder.
The team playing was Mitch Sarling +1 Taylor Carter +1 Connor Morris 1 Jack Dyer 1 Bradley Bawden 1 Josh Hickling 3.
They all had played very well in previous rounds and were determined to not let this chance go.
When all play had finished they had no idea who had won and were delighted to come out on top for the first time in the club’s history.
By becoming English Champions , Rochford have now won a place along with the runners up to play in the Junior Team Home Nations Tournament in Spain next March.
There, Rochford will be playing against winners and runner up from Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
