THE emerging talents of young midfielder Franck Moussa have allowed Southend United manager Steve Tilson to remain relaxed about a lack of cover in the centre of the park.
With Luke Guttridge and Jay Smith both having departed during the January transfer window, the Shrimpers seem short of options.
But Tilson would not be afraid to throw Moussa - a Belgian Under-18 international - into his starting line-up if necessary.
"Franck has been fantastic in training," said Tilson, who handed the 17-year-old his debut as a late substitute at Colchester last season.
"He's with the first team and certainly hasn't looked out of place. He's a bright prospect for the future and he's certainly an option if we pick up any injuries or suspensions in that area.
"Adding to that we have Lewis Hunt who I know can do a solid job for us in there, especially away from home."
