SEEVIC Storm staff and students celebrated a year of hard work, dedication and success at the annual sports presentation awards held at Seevic College.

A number of the Thundersley-based college’s students have excelled again this year.

And Craig Davidson, Head of Competitive Sport, was pleased to see the youngsters recognised for their efforts.

“It was a fantastic celebration of sporting and academic achievement for the students in the Seevic Storm sports academies,” said Davidson.

“We’ve had yet another tremendous year where both our teams and individuals have excelled both regionally and nationally.

“The atmosphere in the room was fantastic.

Double winner - Ella Stapleton

“We have something very special here with our programme and it’s an absolute joy to see our students perform at such a high level and leave us for the better not only academically and athletically but as better people as well.”

Ella Stapleton, 18, who studied A-level PE, Maths and Biology, won two awards at the presentation; Female Sports Personality of the Year and Woman’s Football Academy Player’s Player.

After winning the awards, Ella said: “I was very surprised and didn’t expect to win either award but I am proud to have won both of them and it’s an achievement I will always remember.”

Seevic College competes at the highest level of national competitions.
