STUART Bingham says he feels he is ready to pick up where he left off at the Shanghai Masters when he begins his campaign tomorrow.

The 40-year-old has excelled in China in recent years, reaching the semi-finals last year and winning the tournament back in 2014.

And following the narrowest of defeats in the 6-Red World Championships last month, as he lost on the final ball, Bingham says he is feeling ready to continue his good recent run in Shanghai.

“I am really pleased with my recent form,” said Bingham, ahead of his match against Jamie Jones this morning.

“Something clicked on the practice tables and I took it to the match tables. I missed by one ball and that’s gutting but if someone said before I would get to the final before I would have grabbed their hand off.

“I am still disappointed as I knew a win would see me reach the Champions of Champions but I still have a chance to get there. That missed pink cost me about £35,000!”

“The last few years have been good to me and I have good memories and am playing well at the right time.

“Jamie will be tough and you can’t guarantee anything. But I am keen for it.”

It could have been a very different story for Bingham after he left landed in China only to realise he had left his snooker cue back in Essex.

Although his wife Michelle came to his rescue, with Bingham taking to Twitter after his cue arrived in the nick of time.

He posed with his cue and said: “The most satisfying selfie I’ve ever taken! #SorryMrsB. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me out and cared #gameon.”
