BEAUCHAMPS High School is celebrating a remarkable run of sporting success after all four of its football teams were victorious in recent competitions.

The school’s Years 7 and Years 10 and 11 teams won the District Cup, shortly after the Years 8 and 9 teams had triumphed in the District League.

And they also won the under-16 County Futsal Championship at London’s Copper Box Arena.

And headteacher Bob Hodges said it was a monumental effort from the school’s pupils to enjoy such a level of success.

“It has been an outstanding season for all of our football teams,” he said.

“It is testimony to the commitment, teamwork, resilience and competitiveness of our students, as well as the dedication of our staff and the tremendous support of the parents.

“I am so proud of the disciplined and inspirational performance our Senior Team produced to win the Essex Schools Futsal Tournament, defeating last year’s national champions.

“If we can emulate their achievement and win the National Tournament we would have the wonderful opportunity to represent England and compete against the best in Europe.”

Eight of the boys in the senior football team competed at the under-16 County Futsal Championships, and they were dealt a tough card.

Drawn in a tough group, including last year’s national champions Eastbury, Beauchamps dug in to lift the trophy and they will now go on to represent Essex at the national competition in June.

A win at the national finals could lead to a chance to represent England at the European Championships.

Jack Mayles, Rob Lodge and Luke Dooley were among the scorers in the finals.

Elsewhere, Year 7 pupils were crowned District Cup winners after beating Woodlands School 3-2 in the final.

In a nail-biting match which went to extra time, Beauchamps scored the winning goal just before the final whistle.

The goal scorers were Riley Armstrong, Ryan Donnelly and Harry Johnson.

The school’s senior team, made up of boys from Years 10 and 11, were also crowned District Cup winners.

And they also beat Woodlands School - edging the final 1-0 thanks to Gareth Morgan’s goal.

Finally, the school’s Year 8 and Year 9 teams both won the District League earlier this month.
