DAN Burzotta secured an emphatic victory on his comeback to the cage in UWC’s latest fight-night.

Burzotta came out of retirement to do battle with Chris Jarvis.

And the 43-year-old was thrilled to triumph in the first round, after a stressful day of organisation.

“There was a lot going on during the day as unfortunately four of the fighters coming down from Manchester were involved in a car crash and we had sort out replacements because there was no way for them to get down after that,” said Burzotta.

“Thankfully everyone was OK and we had people who could step in but I was dealing with all of that during the day so it was all quite stressful, but thankfully I was still able to get the job done in there.

“I enjoyed it and it was special to win with my kids watching.”

Burzotta - who last fought three years ago - showed off his extreme strength and skills during a one-sided encounter.

And he was pleased with how the fight went.

“It wasn’t too much of a test for me but I got the win and I always enjoy the fights themselves it’s just the training which is hard at times,” said Burzotta.

“Sometimes you just want to sit at home and watch TV but you have to go for a run or go training and that can be mental torture at times.

“But I’m pleased with how it went and it was special for me to walk out to the Italian national anthem.

“It’s a show at the end of the day and I’ve had lots of feedback from Italy too so I’m happy and I reckon I raised about £400 for the homeless charity HARP as well.”

Burzotta is also head at the well-renowned MMA gym TSG in Westcliff.

And he was also quick to praise those who took to the cage with Jack Brunning, Bani Bilka, Jack Brunning, Tommy Brunning, Alex O’Toole, Terry Montgomery and Dean Stevens all securing victories.

“There were some great fights and I always say you either win or you learn,” said Burzotta.

“Everyone from TSG will always go out there and do the very best they can and we saw that again on Saturday night.

“There was a real mixture of fights and real variation in the way they were won, which was good for the crowd.

“We also had a team of French soldiers who came over and they were obviously in great condition so they added to the night as well.”

Hundreds of fans watched the excitement unfold.

And Burzotta has been further boosted by the feedback he has received.

“Everyone who came along said how much they enjoyed it and how much they enjoyed the atmosphere in the arena as well,” said Burzotta.

“Lots of people have been asking when the next fight night will be but I need a couple of weeks to get over this one before I start thinking about that!”
