STUART Bingham has drawn snooker legend Stephen Hendry in the opening round of the World Championships.

The 35-year-old from Vange will face the 43-year-old, seven-times world champion in a match which gets under way on Saturday afternoon at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre.

Incredibly, it will be only the second time the two men have faced each other in a competitive match.

The first was also at the World Champioships as Bingham claimed a memorable 10-7 victory 12 years ago.

This time around Hendry had to qualify to earn the right to play 16th seed Bingham.
