IT WAS an incredibly important game for us against Taunton on Saturday and it turned out to be a great result for us too.

The week before we were so disappointed with how performed when losing to Canterbury and it led to quite a full and frank discussion during training.

We spoke about things you can’t coach and the need to really step up to the plate.

We didn’t want another week like the one we had after losing to Canterbury and we wanted to be more aggressive, more ruthless and hit things hard.

That’s exactly what we did to get the win and Taunton’s coach was extremely complimentary about us at the end of the game.

They’re third in the table at the moment and were only beaten by a last minute try when they lost to Henley who are the top of the league.

But they said we were best team they have faced this so far this season.

He said there was nowhere for them to go and was praised our defence which was great to hear.

It was a real pat on the back for us but having shown the type of form we’re capable of we need to produce it on a more consistent basis.

We need that to be the norm and we want to be looking up the table not down it.

I think we threw caution to the wind a bit more against Taunton and that’s something else we need to do more often.

Next up, we’re at Bishop’s Stortford for what will also be another difficult game.

But we’ve beaten the team just above them in the table now so we’ve shown what we can do when we’re on form.

So now we want to go and do it all over again.

IMPORTANT PLAYERS HAVE RETURNED

WE HAVE some important players available again and that’s making a difference.

Daniel Legge is certainly one of those and he’s extremely influential.

He just doesn’t seem to make any mistakes and is extremely solid.

I played alongside him with Saracens and it’s great to be in the same team as him again.

He’s also another of the elder statesmen so it’s enjoyable when he’s out there with me!
