THURROCK surged back to winning ways with a 40-0 victory against Letchworth Garden City in London One North.

T’s headed into the game on the back of two successive defeats.

But their director of rugby Dean White was full of praise for his team’s display.

“I was very impressed with the performance, “said White.

“We played some great rugby and our defence was outstanding.

“This was the first time this season that we put an 80 minute performance together and we showed what a great side we can be if we focus.

“Training has been the key and the players are really starting to understand not only their personal roles but the roles of others around them.

“This in turn means that we get a complete team performance.”

The victory kept Thurrock fourth in the table.

But they are now just four points behind league leaders Brentwood who suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday.

“I have said all along no team will go undefeated this season but we must now concentrate on being consistent and applying pressure to other teams to perform well week in week out,” said White.

“We must now build on this performance and keep challenging ourselves to be better each week.”

Tom Worsfold put T’s in front with a penalty before Jake Barrand touched down for a try Worsfold converted to make it 10-0.

Worsfold added another penalty and Bradleigh Retigan soon also scored a try.

Three more points from the boot of Worsfold made it 21-0 at half-time.

After the break, Barrand added a second try while Hagen Mumba and Joss Nunn also touched with Worsfold scored two conversions to complete the scoring.
